Horrific cold

Has anyone else had this horrific cold. Started with dry lips, then dizziness, then streaming cold, throat like razors. I've never been so ill for a long time. It's heading for my chest.. I've done lfts all negative.

Yes we all had this and it’s taken bloody ages to clear. I tested negative consistently on lfts and so did everyone else in the house. It’s gone round the school like wild fire too!

bellalou1234 · 29/09/2022 20:27

My head feels like wool too..

It’s Covid. LFTS don’t seem very good at the moment

Tickledpickled · 29/09/2022 20:28

Yes I’ve got it too. Feels like a hangover!

boxybox · 29/09/2022 20:29

sore throat, temp, shivers all gone & smell back. Still feel a lot of nose congestion & bit of a cough

Handsoffmyrights · 29/09/2022 20:30

Yup. Did two LFTs - negative.

RagzRebooted · 29/09/2022 20:32

DCs have had it but with lots of nausea. I have it but no sore throat. The fuzzy head is horrible. The nausea is debilitating, had to be given antisickness tablets to get through work this morning!
Not sure if it's the same one, but we're all negative on lfts as well. I'd be surprised if it's covid as I've avoided it twice when the kids had it.

bellalou1234 · 29/09/2022 20:35

Yes I've had shivers then boiling hot..I normally get over a cold really quick..each day I feel worse with this.. tmi but my urine is bright orange too

Yes - had this since Sunday - tested negative then, but tested positive yesterday.

IamSamantha · 29/09/2022 21:17

We've all got this as well. Lfts are neg

cheeseybeans19 · 30/09/2022 22:06

Had this since last Friday, all lateral flows negative, gone into my ear now so hot antibiotics today. Strangest cold I’ve ever had, feels much the same as when I had covid in January minus the back ache

BG2015 · 01/10/2022 08:48

Yes, high temp, no voice, congested, headachy. Negative tests so far.

scrufffy · 01/10/2022 08:54

Yes had this for 2 weeks. 4 LFTs all negative.

anewbook · 01/10/2022 09:14

Another one here 🤧
Throat like a razor
Temp 39
Blocked stuffed up nose
… and strangely very hungry
day 3
negative lft

Blabla81 · 01/10/2022 09:20

Yes and it’s covid (for me I mean) - took a good few days to test positive. The dizziness and cold sore I got started 6 days before a positive - sore throat 3 days before the positive. I now have a stinking cold and immense tiredness.

Abraxan · 01/10/2022 09:29

We've all had this cold flu type bug. Me Dh and Dd have had it separately, Dd whilst away at university.

It isn't covid as we have all tested negative several times throughout.

Headache, high temp, chills, aching, sore throat and/or cough, fatigue, etc Lasting a few days, starting fairly suddenly but then lingering a while.

Just an old fashioned bug it seems but hit hard.

pastaandpesto · 01/10/2022 09:39

I've just had this. Three/four days of feeling really awful (very high temp, horrid sore throat, exhausted) then another week of feeling very fatigued followed by another week of still feeling pretty knackered.

Did several LFTs, all negative. It did feel very similar to covid for me though, apart from not losing smell/taste. Just a nasty virus I guess.

Yellowmellow2 · 02/10/2022 11:50

I have it too. Really nasty cold and so much thick, green gunk! My whole face hurts today, so I hope it hasn’t gone to my sinuses. Maybe we’re just all more susceptible following lockdown 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jules912 · 02/10/2022 20:33

Yep had this last week, pretty sure it wasn't Covid for me as had that late August! Still feeling very tired but that might be due to two illnesses so close together.

Shiningstarr · 02/10/2022 20:43

I had it 2 weeks ago, and my son and daughter had it last week. I had to go to bed for 2 days, my poor kids needed antibiotics as it turned into a chest infection for both of them.

They were both so poorly, my son (16) was crying he felt so unwell, and he never cries. Had to take a couple of days off work to look after them.

Negative LFTs throughout.
