Medication for leaky bladder

I have a had a leaky bladder for a long time. Last week I had a UTI and finally asked the GP for help. I had some blood tests to check my kidneys, results were normal, and have been referred for a CT scan as kidney stones are suspected.
I asked the GP of there is any medication I can take for my incontinence but he said he’s reluctant due to the side effects and to wait for the results of the CT.

I didn’t push any further but wish I had as I would like to know what the side effects could be - would they be worse than the incontinence?

Might be thinking of something called an anticholinergic drug that helps the bladder retain urine. It does however come with some significant side effects particularly as you get older

I found pelvic floor exercises plus topical vaginal oestrogen (if you're menopausal) really helpful for leaky bladder
