She is a teacher in a school, and is being consistently excluded by other staff at work events due to her diet. For example, they chose a staff party venue which could not guarantee gluten free / no cross-contamination so she couldn’t eat anything, at meetings in school, biscuits and cake are produced by the bucket load but none, not one thing, is GF. When she has complained to the head, he makes out she is over exaggerating and being petty. However, there is a coeliac student in the school for whom inclusion is constantly considered. The last person to negligently exclude her was the SENCO who breezily said “oh sorry, I didn’t get anything for you…” and then that was that,
any advice on how to tackle it at the institution level? She can obviously bring her own food, but that’s not the point when there are plenty of restaurants and food options now which are inclusive.
