Foot pain not improving GP not helping much

I’m desperate now and wondered if anyone could help me with my foot pain? 6 months ago I started getting pain in one ankle/heel. It is still hurting very much and I can only nip down the shops etc. I basically haven’t left my house for months. I can manage a bit further sometimes but it gets so painful I have to stop. The GP won’t do a single thing for me, no referral to anyone, no scans, no alternative treatments or injections or therapy. They have referred me to physio months ago. I do the exercises every day and it’s quite painful. There’s been no improvement at all. They say it’s called tendinopathy. It’s actually in both feet but much worse on one side for some reason. I’ve been icing them too but not helping.

Sorry just realised what I’ve written. They did refer me to physio but not to a specialist at the hospital or anyone with further knowledge of this condition. Physio haven’t changed my exercise routine it’s the same stuff as usual.

Go back to the physio. They know more about this sort of thing than your GP.

What have the physio said about it not improving ?

Nuisancefoot1989 · 29/09/2022 13:05

The physio have said that they don’t have a timeline of how long these injuries take to improve. They can’t refer me for any pain treatment yet and they just tell me to carry on doing the heel raises. My physio told me that she had this before and ice really helped. I don’t mean to be rude but it’s been a long time now of me doing the exercises and icing. Nothing is helping. In fact doing the tiptoe exercises is actually making it hurt a lot. Apparently that is normal. I feel like giving up. My husband told me last night im not being pushy enough with the GP. I asked him what exactly is I need to do??? I’ve tried bringing it to their attention and they tell me to continue with the exercises given.

So say that all to your GP.
Do you work ? If so, say it’s affecting your ability to work.
