A thread of people on NHS waiting lists

Cardiac procedure scheduled for 12 days from now. Given the post-pandemic backlogs, though, I would imagine there are many, many people here waiting more like 12 weeks or 12 months for appointments, investigations, and surgery.

Would anyone like a support thread whilst we wait?

I'm feeling somewhat unwell (obviously, really) but what I am finding hardest of all is the anxiety. How are others on waiting lists doing?

So far I have been waiting 6 months for a maxillofacial appointment.

I finally had my internal and internal scan yesterday. It looks like a fibroid, endometriosis of the ovaries which are more cysts than ovary at this point. I'm waiting for a biopsy to confirm and get mirena fitted for a temporary measure to ease the bleeding. I'm now glad my DH went behind my back in August and phoned the doctor on my behalf.

@blackberriesaretheonlyfruit glad you’re on the road to being sorted. It’s a long old haul, but hopefully the mirena will do the trick for you! x

I have a congenital heart condition, since January i have had increase in palpitaions. In June i was put on waiting list for holter monitor at same time i was told i would be put on list to see cardiologist too but not until i had holter fitted. I had that appointment in October so guessing my cardiology appointment wait will be months away
In meantime i have had to come off of betablockers as my heart rate was going below 40 at times, so now i have even more palpitations.
My teen daughter also has a CHD , she is meant to have stress test yearly but that has been delayed because of move over to adult care. Put on urgent list for that end of September but still waiting. In meantime i have to take her to A&E if she gets chest pain for ECG and bloods.
