Hi everyone, stupid question alert!

2 weeks ago, dd got bronchiolitis (fever, wheezing etc)

She picked up last friday, but then all weekend she had a fever. I took her to the docs on tuesday and she has an ear infection, antibiotics were prescribed.

Now today she woke with a temp of 39.8c???

Surely the fever stage of the ear infection has passed so has she got yet another infection somewhere or do you think it is still the same one? She's had 2.5 days of her antibiotics.

The thing about fever is that it's a biochemical response - her body is producing more white blood cells to fight infection and her organs are working hard cleaning up from the germ wars. So that produces heat. Fevers tend to go up and down depending on time of day, activity levels, room temp etc. Until she's had five days of antibiotics assume nothing, though if you are still concerned there is no problem with returning to the docs for another look at her.

I hope she recovers soon
