Hi I am hoping some one who knows their stuff about Thyroids can help me understand whats going on or anywhere I can get information with out googling too much as I use to suffer HA years ago.
I had my daughter 7 years ago, after I had her I noticed I was not feeling myself (second child). I ended up being really mentally poorly with lots of symptoms. The doctor did tests and gave me tablets and that was that. My main symptom was restricted breathing/tiredness but doctors said it was anxiety.
Fast forward 7 miserable years of pain, I have a visible lump grow on my neck (all around the front where thyroid is) so they took my blood test for thyroid (only TSH) It came back normal. After begging the doctor for them to refer me urgently they have and my appointment at ENT is next week. But now I am really scared that because tests have always come back normal range (1.89) . I have always written down my symptoms and this is not the anxiety. This was with out even looking at Thyroid problems.
Symptoms: visible large goiter, cold hands/feet, hair falling out/ brittle, brittle nails, very heavy irregular painful periods, heels on my feet are constantly cracked, constantly hungry and even though I eat healthy I can not lose weight, tired constantly but not too bad, very dry skin, very emotional and very moody (very unlike me I am usually happy). struggle to lift arms, heart beat doesn't feel normal. Itchy legs.
Surely this is enough to do more thyroid tests ( they have said no just going by TSH results).
I feel like I am being misdiagnosed. They wasn't even going to refer me It was only because I started crying that they said they would monitor size by feeling it.
