How many times a year can you have these?

As often as clinically necessary but you may need medication to stop bone thinning or adrenal insufficiency. There is no limit though although it's important to get the reason you need them under control though.

Thanks for the reply.

Im asthmatic and have had long covid for 6 months. I had them in May before I'd definitely had my LC diagnosis. They only helped for about 2-3 weeks after I stopped them but I've spent months coughing and feeling breathless on any exertion and I'm desperate for some relief.

I'm seeing my GP on Monday and hoping he will give me some more.

prednisolone is given for other things besides asthma. I don't think there is a limit on number of short courses but you should be aware that if taken longer term there are risks.
I feel like they are the devils drug because they make you feel so much better very quickly but they are extremely difficult to stop.
I was given them in Feb 2020 initially short term for RA. Because of covid I ended up on them much longer. I was eventually diagnosed with osteoporosis and advised to stop taking the steroids. It took me 8 painful months to wean off them.
