Stomach still very swollen (assuming this is normalish) but have managed to get pants on today!
BUT am struggling to eat, had 3 gnocchi and a slice of bread yesterday and this am I had an apple but it hurts after I have eaten , like indegestion.

Is this normal?

do you have the number of the ward you were on? If so just give them a ring - they won't mind.

ArcticRoll · 24/01/2008 10:15

I had same op years ago and don't recall experiencing the same problems as you;mind you my memory is pretty poor at moment so I'm sure someone else will come along with more helpful advice.

Nymphadora · 24/01/2008 10:21

feeels like when I had my sections , just higher up.

Don't want to phone the ward they might make me come back

They'll only make you go back if there's a chance there's a problem. And if there is a problem then you need to get it looked at don't you?

Nymphadora · 24/01/2008 10:29

Nymphadora · 25/01/2008 14:34

Good to hear you have a sick note - you need to take it easy!

hawesmead5 · 26/01/2008 10:37

Glad you have a sick note I had a laparotomy about 6 months ago and it took a few weeks to recover. Make sure you take it easy I had just had my baby a month before and it took much longer for me to recover because I wasn't resting fully. So put your feet up and make sure someone is looking after you!

Am in agony tonight, know I did too much yesterday (went to Asda -didn't carry anything but still walked round) I've spent most of today in bed or on settee. Am on own tonight as bf can't stay on Sunday. Kids been good and had to get dd2 (6) to help me make her bed

I had laparotomy ten years ago aged 23 and I was off work for months!. Had tube and somebowl reoved -very long story - but I didnt eat properley for ages. Had loads of bloating and still ave a horrendous scar. Still, I produced two beautiful babies a couple of years ago so they must have sewn it all back in OK!!!

Nymphadora · 27/01/2008 21:02

I am still very bloated!, sore inside today think it must be from the polyp? how do they remove them, would it have been lasered too or cut off? would there be stitches?

I remember when I had my procedure that she said I would need to have at least 3 months off work!!! I was gutted I was on maternity leave
I was also told not to lift anything heavier than a half full kettle. So really take it easy you will be feeling delicate for some time. If you are worried at all go back to your gp.

Nymphadora · 28/01/2008 19:02

Just had my Asda shop delivered and bf was still at the gym so got the kids to carry it for me (in some cases one item at a time )
