I have had very light / no periods for 2.5-3 years (years of irregularity before this too). Generally my queries and concerns have been batted away by doctors because I have no other symptoms and wasn't trying for a baby. I wasn't particularly worried about the last few years because I have been highly stressed (anxiety disorder and COVID) and I know that can be your bodies response. My anxiety disorder is very well controlled now and the last 6 months have been much better, so was half thinking my periods might return.
Yesterday was a different story though, I was bleeding through the largest tampons in just over an hour, had cramps that meant I couldn't stand without feeling shaky and faint. When I got home from work there were a number of clots (thumb sized) and then just before bed the largest one yet came out with my copper coil, which has been in for 5 years. I had a sharp stabbing pain when I sat a few weeks ago, I'm now assuming this was the coil shifting and it's been in the wrong place for a bit.
I genuinely don't know what to do - period is carrying on today like it did yesterday and I can't get through to the doctors surgery. Should I be calling 111 as this is such a sudden change and out of the ordinary for me?
