About 2 months ago i noticed that my feet felt reallt strange, like i had bin bags on them.
Went to gp, assumming b12 deficiency. She ran loads of blood tests. Nothing.
Its now gone up to my knees. There is a feeling like ive , got a barrier, like a plastic lining or something.above my knees i can put my thigh together and i can feel normal skin but all below rhe knee it feels odd. Maybe like the feeling you get when you have hotaches..? Gp has ref me to neurology as she cdnt find a problem but says that i have a form of neuropathy. She did a vibration test with a steel thing . I felt it on mt hands but both feet cant sense it.
Has anyone had this ? I am worried as the wait list is apparently long and since i saw gp the feeling has gone up to mt knees from feet.
Gp has told hospital same. Its hard to wait.

For me it was Multiple Sclerosis. I’ve not done so but I know other people that have paid for a private neurology appointment.

The thing is i thought it can take up to a year fpr diagnosis? ( not the appt, i mean the process)?

The diagnostic process can be lengthy for many people. Mine was more of a swift sudden shock.

Telling you not to worry, or saying that you should put it out of your mind (especially when I know how hard it is!), is probably pointless. Instead I’d suggest getting plenty of rest, gentle exercise and maybe look at encouraging sensation in your legs/feet too. Try wiggling your toes in sand, water, on towels etc. Ask your Dr if physiotherapy is worth trying whilst you wait. Keep note of any odd symptoms or changes you notice.

I’ve gone straight to MS as it my experience but there are other conditions that can mimic the symptoms. My hope is that your symptoms resolve swiftly and fully. If a diagnosis does come your way I’d be more than happy to chat.

The change i have noticed is that its gone from the feet up to.my knees now.
I also tripped over my own feet and fell last week which was not.fun !
