Have you seen a dermatologist? If you've tried all the usual prescription meds and creams, could you try Roaccutane?

seethis · 15/09/2022 11:47

tahnks @OldWivesTale yes, I have seen a dermatologist but that was 11/12 years ago and I was on Roaccutane but i had to take it for a bit longer than I should because I didnt see any results and it didnt really work over all because acne came back right after I stopped using the medication.

Sorry to hear that. Can you go back to the dermatologist to see if they have any other suggestions. I'm sure you've probably thought of that already but I'm not sure what else you can do. Have you tried all the usual creams - Duac etc ? I'm guessing you have if they've put you on Roaccutane.

You need a dermatologist. I’m on spironolactone and now only have the occasional pimple on my chin. Huge difference.

Have another course of Roaccutane.

what I have decided to do while waiting for the dermatologist referral is to continue on my antibiotics (the doctor changed it to another one just incase my body is used to the one I have been taking for over 6months now), I will go on birth control pill, use lots of vitamin c face products and tablets and medicated cream like skinoren.
once I get back on Roaaccitane, I will still be on the vitamin c for face and tablet and birth control.
I will be giving it my all for the very last time because I am too old for all these now.

Good idea OP.

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned but have you tried glycolic acid peels? They can really help.
