Have had tmjd for 2.5 years now. Started during my last pregnancy and has never properly went away but has been mostly well controlled with a soft diet. Yesterday afternoon I went for a nap and was getting a searing pain throughout my top right teeth. I turned over and tried to sleep on my left side but right sided pain continued.
Last night when I was trying to sleep again (this time on my back) the pain continued. The pain is mostly generalised as a flash of pain to all the upper teeth on one side, but then localised to my first molar as was sensitive to pressure intermittently. Ended up taking diazepam and ibuprofen and went to sleep. Tooth (touch wood) seems fine today but scared of going to sleep again tonight. I do clench basically as soon as I'm drifting off bur the pain was there even when I wasn't at that stage, plus my mouthguard (nti device) normally stops the pain from clenching. Does this sound like a weird flare up of tmj or a tooth issue? Had an opg x ray of my teeth approx 6 weeks ago and no issues detected then. To add, I do have cheekbone pain on the right side at the min if I press on it but no actual toothache as such
