Wisdom teeth?

I have a bad pain in my jaw hinge. Can't open my mouth properly and can't chew properly. It's tender under the jaw too where I thought glands are.

Is this what having wisdom teeth coming through is like?

Possibly but could also be a dental infection - I would see your dentist!

it sounds like could be an abcess as this is the pain i had but could be wisdom also just go get it checked soon as if infection pain will get real bad and always curse myself for not getting it checked before that point

Wisdom teeth wouldn't make your glands sore! (I work for a dentist BTW)

If it is an abscess (sounds 'orrible), how will it be treated? Antibiotics?

The lower left side of my face is now all swollen up. Gorgeous. Got doc appointment tomrrow.

Antibiotics in the first instance, then probably extraction or root treatment. I think your GP will just send you to your dentist, so you are as well to call the dentist and see them ASAP, it's not something you should leave.

I had an abscess a few weeks ago (near wisdom tooth), the dentist cleaned it up which was a bit painful and then gave me antibiotics for 3 days. Get to the dentist ASAP.
