Base of tooth poking through gum. Any dentists about?

I don’t know what made me look, discomfort I think, but I pulled my lower lip down slightly and was shocked to see the bottom of my tooth is visible through the thinning gum.
Why are my gums thinning? Is it a health issue or is it because I wear a mouth guard due to bruxism? I’ve worn one for around 4 years and this is the first time I’ve seen this, I’m terrified I’m going to lose my tooth.
The picture doesn’t show the reality of how it looks tbh, it’s very visibly white irl.
Any dentists about who could advise?
Thanks.

You’re developing a buccal exostosis - nothing to worry about

Thank you so much for the info, reassuring to know my tooth isn’t going to slowly work its way through my gum and drop out!
