I was given a box of pain relief from the hospital. How do I get more?

I was in hospital a few days back with very painful back ache that was constant. I’m 37 weeks pregnant, tbey examined me and gave me a box of some strong pain killers to help which they have but I’m still in pain when they wear off. They said if I need to keep taking them it’s fine but I forgot what they said about how to get more. Do I get more from the hospital at the maternity part?

Call your GP. Or your midwife.

I would ring your GP surgery

Ring your GP surgery. Failing that, you’d have to attend your hospital’s Antenatal Day Unit or Maternity Triage. Your community midwife won’t be able to prescribe painkillers so would only refer you on to either of the options stated.
