Just that. I have had various problems over the last year. Took a selfie of me with my son yesterday and was taken back by how much my face shape has changed. Got me thinking again of possible causes.

Currently waiting to see an endo to rule out or confirm Cushing's Syndrome/disease. My symptoms were 2 stone weight gain (I have managed to lose 1 stone 2lbs since), buffalo hump and high cortisol levels in my blood. I was on potent steroid creams for years for psoriasis but stopping the creams hasn't helped the symptoms so I don't think it was caused by that for me. My GP thinks its either benign tumour or even trauma induced but we wont know for sure until I finally see the endo. Referral was made 4 months ago and I still haven't hard a peep.

I constantly compare how I looked last year or 2 years ago and it breaks my heart

I haven't been on steroids for over 20 years but I have had a long period of extreme stress. My first problem is going to be getting my cortisol tested. Did you ask for a cortisol test or was it part of a bigger blood test?

My GP ordered the cortisol test as well as a generic hormone panel as soon as I showed her my buffalo hump which seems to be very specific to Cushing's. My levels were about 779 and I think the lab cut off was about 550, so I was quite over the threshold.

My mum did- caused my a tumour (benign) on her pituitary gland. She developed a moon face and put weight on her tummy in a very particular way which is associated with Cushing’s. Took a while for her to be diagnosed though and the specialist she saw said in his view it was unusual for GPs to spot because the symptoms can be similar to other conditions.

Sorry two other symptoms I forgot about: Low mood/depression and bruising very easily

Did you get swollen eyelids or sight problems?

No, I've not had any eye symptoms. The only symptoms I've had so far are - buffalo hump, weight gain, rounder face, high blood cortisol, worsening MH conditions (BPD and CPTSD) and bad memory/brain fog. I don't have high BP, PCOS or diabetes either which is often diagnosed along with Cushing's.

I'm just looking back over my bloods and I haven't had a cortisol blood test. I think I will ask the gp on Monday
