Racking cough keeping me awake at night, headache, achy joints, runny nose - all the delights!!!! LF all negative, but now a week since onset and no sign of getting any better. Anyone else? And if so how long did it last?

Yep I have my annual bad cold nose is full of snot and feels like it's liking my sinuses, cough, tired, aching and low level fever. Also negative LFTs but wasn't expecting it as I get this every year.

It will take 5-7 days for me to start to feel like it's ending, then the cough lingers for another week.

I am going through this at the mo. I done a swab at the doctors, under the CARI scheme I think its called which checks for what viruses are in your community. Came back negative for everything including Covid which was a surprise because it felt identical to how my Covid started last yr. So I was diagnosed with bacterial tonsillitis and a chest infection and given amoxicillin. I feel a lot better now but my god, the cough! If I had a quid for every time I have coughed today alone, I would be a millionaire. Its so much worse at night. I'm lucky if I have had an hours sleep most nights. Chest and back hurt too from all the coughing which always happens when I get a chest infection. I've broken ribs before from coughing and I am worried I will do it again this time. Since the antibiotics, it has went from chesty to dry and tickly.

I hope you feel better soon ❤
