Hi, just after advice after discussing with a friend some symptoms I’ve been having. I didn’t really make a connection between them but she thinks it points towards a thyroid issue. I’m planning to make a GP appointment on Monday.
My symptoms are
- slow heart rate (45ish when resting, can go to 36 when asleep), which sometimes makes me feel light headed
- really bad constipation to the point of having piles
- Being totally exhausted that I could sleep standing
- often weeks late on my periods
- Finding unexplained bruises
- scalloped tongue
I’m 36 and a single working mum to 2 DC so I thought the tiredness was normal. Bruises down to rough playing and constipation down to being dehydrated. Wasn’t until talking to my friend about my periods that she mentioned thyroid
I’ve had no weight gain which seems to be the major symptom when I googled it.
Will be making an appointment on Monday anyway but would be good to know whether it’s something to bring up before they start mentioning my age and menopause
