A blood test found that my diamine oxidase (DAO) was 10.2, when the normal range was said to be between 14 and 33. Combined with low elastase in my stool, I have been diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
I wonder if anyone has this condition and how they live with it? Or any of my symptoms, which I am worried might mean something else? I have had ongoing problems and been tested for everything under the sun, but this is about the only time something has finally come up (haemoglobin is usually low, but normally only just outside the "normal" range).
I have been experiencing pains in my lower left abdomen, then swelling of the abdomen started (which makes me look as if I eat too much!). I have had horrible headaches, brain fog, rashes on my skin, including lines all over my body in the mornings, flushing in the face and just all sorts of weird stuff going on. My stomach aches - not in a terribly painful way, more as if I have a slight chill in my tummy. To be honest, I would be happy were it to be just EPI! Ultrasound scans have turned up nothing, but said I am "full of air".
Would anyone with a similar diagnosis/symptoms like to contribute?
