Just a bit of advice on this please. I started with a sore throat on Sunday night, checked throat, tonsils covered in pus. I haven't contacted the GP as haven't been feeling too bad other than a sore throat. But my tonsils are still covered in pus now (maybe slightly less red though) sore and I'm very very tired now. At what stage do I seek further help? Or I've left it this long I may as well ride it out?

Depends on if it’s viral or bacterial, the former you’ll need to let ride out but the latter will need ABs

Given your symptoms don’t sound too bad I’d do painkillers and test and see if you can get through it. Have you tried gargling with hydrogen peroxide? Tastes like absolute arse in your mouth but will really help

I haven't no! I must try that tomorrow. I suspect it is bacterial as I haven't had any cold symptoms and no one else in the house has either but no way to know for sure of course. It just seems an awful long time for the tonsils to be oozing Envy --not envy!

If your tonsils are covered in pus that sounds bacterial and you may need antibiotics. I would speak to your GP surgery x
