I'm looking for a little advice.

I'm currently 11 and a half weeks pregnant with my third child. I'm 25 and generally have good health. On Friday night I started experiencing really sharp shooting pains in my left hand side at my ribs, it was taking my breath away and when it wasn't a stabbing pain it felt bruised where the pain was. I left it until Monday as I didn't think much of it but it didn't stop and come Monday I phoned drs as I was getting out of breath really easily. Drs sent me straight to hospital after listening to my chest, in hospital I got normal bloods taken, and a blood sample taken from my artery ( can't remember the name of this test), anyway the dr came back to say this test showed that there were levels in my blood high enough to suggest I had a blood clot but not high enough to suggest it could only be a blood clot so I was put forward for lung scans. I went for an X-ray that night and during the night I was woken by the nurse to give me an injection to prevent any further clots and stop any potential clot from getting larger.

Anyway the next day I was sent for a CT scan and this came back clear so I was discharged and sent home as they were happy it wasn't a clot. My only problem is now I am still getting this bad pain, and I am also getting an ache in my heart and cramps in my tummy. I don't know what it could be. They didn't check on baby as my 12 week scan is next week so they said they are happy for me to wait until then but im nervous now.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

I would seek urgent medical advice, either hospital, gp or 111. I hope they can help you feel more comfortable soon.

The drs said it might be an infection or something as there were levels of something in my blood but they won't investigate any more as it's not a blood clot, I don't want to feel like I'm wasting their time but it's just annoying being sent away with no answers x

You need to go back. If it suggested an infection they should've put you on antibiotics!

mumof2g1rls · 08/09/2022 18:50

Yeah they said it could indicate infection or blood clot but CT scan came back clear so they just discharged me!

That's so bad. You must go back incase it is an infection.

mumof2g1rls · 08/09/2022 22:06

That's the thing it's ovbiously something as my blood levels were raised enough for them to think it was a clot and to send me for a chest X-ray and a CT scan?? I'm going to go back cause I'm still in pain x
