Productive cough remedies

Hi everyone. Five days ago, I came down with a cold, fever, body aches and a cough. Fever has now gone, but I'm coughing up green gunk, have an awful headache and feel pretty terrible. Having bad night sweats during the night as well, even with the fever now gone. Have taken two Covid tests, and they were both negative. Have tried the usual pharmacy cough syrups and steaming, but does anyone have any good remedies for a productive cough and general malaise? I'm back at work tomorrow (teacher) and can't be off! Thank you!

Bronchial balsam is about £1 a bottle. From Savers or Morrisons.
It's the best cough syrup for a productive cough. Much better than all the branded types. I've tried them all!
I would also wait another day or two and retest for Covid. It took about a week for mine to show positive but I knew I definitely had it so persisted with the testing.

Price has gone up since the last time I bought it 😬

@AmberGer thanks so much for the link. I've never seen that before! Ill definitely give it a go. Covid test was negative again today. I'm wondering if it's maybe bronchitis.

No,,it’s a virus , it just isn’t the sacred Covid. I’ve got the same thing, although doesn’t seem to be as bad as your description.

I had exactly the same symptoms in 2019, but it lasted much longer, so perhaps we build up specific immunities. I haven’t tested , wouldn’t know how( don’t really care, either) I’m just keeping myself to myself.

I find Famous Grouse is pretty good in these situations ( or almost any tbh) . Get well soon
