COPPER COIL REMOVAL

Hi!! First post, someone surely has something the same I can’t find anything online!!

i had the copper coil put in maybe 8-9 years ago, I had no problems at all, regular periods bang on the same date or near on every month!! 1st couple of days heavy, lasting around 4-5 days.

i had the coil removed around may time so over a year ago, (just actually realised how long 🙈🙈) after having it for 8-9 year I’ve had messed up periods ever since!! One month on one month off, 22 days late 12 days late etc, I didn’t have a period for all the month of July!! But had one June, I had a very light period starting mid august round about 16th, however week into my period it became very heavy, full of huge clots (sorry for the tmi) I feel like I’ve been on my period forever!! Today was really light through the day, I lie down on a night time and have massive clots like wtf!! Wouldn’t you think through the day it would come out more!! so around 3 weeks into a period now!! I’ve never bled this long. I did take a test before I came on as late period again, cheap strip test it was negative!!

I’ve just turned 30 so I highly doubt it’s pre menopause, I’m not in much pain slight niggle compare to the coil days when the pain of cramps was so bad!! I’ve heard it can take a few months for periods to go back to normal but can it take this long? I’ve always had clotty periods but no where near this bad!!

anyone else experienced this?? X

I had coil removed after a truely awful experience (my womb was cobtracting!) Doctor said my body was expelling coil. Had it removed 3 weeksish a go, since I'm extremely bloated, sickness, fatigue, period pains and lower back pain. Did u have this?

Hi, did you feel any better? I had my coil out after a similar amount of time you had yours in. I feel rough today.

I always get bloated quick, always had lower back pain, I had gallbladder removal last year and c section 13 years ago, so those symptoms are because of that so I can’t comment so sorry I hope your feeling better x

I never felt any different having it out, still having irregular periods, just been looking at premenopausal symptoms and I think mine fit xx
