Does this sound like shingles?
I have about 4 big spots on one side of my scalp in my gairlinethat are really sore, a bit like insect bites.

Sharp shooty pains in my scalp.
Really Swollen itchy and sore left eyelid (no spots or infection in eyelash line, no gunk in eye).
I feel crap, bit coldy and Swollen lymph node in my jawline (same side)
Right eye Totally fine.

Could be. You should see about getting antivirals asap

Yes, it could well be. I had shingles in my eye earlier this year. I first became aware of bit of discomfort in my eye, then it gradually got worse and was very irritated and watery. I had a few spots on my forehead and head which I didn't think anything much of, but they developed into really weird shooting pains plus pain in my scalp, and I fairly quickly developed a headache on that side of my head and nausea. I should have gone to a doctor more quickly, but DH had covid at the same time and I was initially convinced it must be that, then I thought it might sinus as I had pain on one side of my face.

If it's shingles, you really do need to get onto antivirals and possibly steroid eye drops quickly, so I'd suggest trying to see your GP or going to a drop-in centre today. If you live somewhere where they have a Eye A&E service that could be a good call - I went initially to the London Eye Hospital and was then referred to Kingston. I think you need to make an appointment with them first, but they will see you on an urgent basis.

Also I'd suggest you lay in some heavy-duty painkillers!

Hope you feel better soon.

You're a month behind me. Ring doctor and say you need an urgent/ emergency consultation for shingles. (If you have a GP with a draconian gatekeeper and can get no response got to A and E. You should be given antivirals if it's in a couple of days of starting. GP said if the spots spread to the eye go to A and E and don't waste time waiting for 111 to call back if it was out of hours as you need to be seen urgently and a 12 hour wait for a call back/ referral could be a major delay. My eye felt like yours but the spots never spread and I didn't need to go. Antivirals are a bugger as they need to be taken 5 times a day - I took them 5 hourly and set the alarm for night times (and can cause a photosensitive rash so be aware of sunlight). Pain killers if necessary although mine was more uncomfortable than painful. Commiserarions it was horrible.
