IBS and alcohol

Anyone know what alcohol is easiest on the stomach? I don't drink often but have an important family event coming up where I do want to drink. My usual is amaretto and lemonade but my stomach was awful after the last time.

I have been taking buscopan too but not sure if this is wise with alcohol!

I have a severe stomach issue, not diagnosed yet, but I have found vodka is the least likely to set my problems off, I've known a few people the same too.

I think clear spirits are probably your best bet. Avoid red wine or beer.

Yes clear spirits, vodka or gin are best. Amaretto is too sweet and will annoy your stomach. Stick to plain mixers like tonic, soda water or lemonade.

Thank you. Unfortunately vodka is the drink I can't bear 😩 what about Malibu? I'm not sure I like gin, maybe I'll need to try it!

With gin, it’s often the tonic that people don’t like. Maybe try with bitter lemon instead?
