DD and DS were both sick a few times last night but seem fine now. Should I send DD to school tomorrow or wait another 24 hours??

It's supposed to be 48 hours after last bought of sickness/stomach upset and no sooner, even if they are well in themselves.

pindy · 22/01/2008 14:04

Agree with luciemule - we had a letter home from school yesterday saying 48 hours after the last time they were sick.

Standard advice from schools here is 48 hours after the last vomit/runs.

Twiggypiggy · 22/01/2008 18:16

48 hours from the last they vomitted/runs with our school in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

OK, so we've taken 48 hours since the last episode of sickness and things are pretty much back to normal, though appetite is still a bit poor. But this evening she's had some shocking diarrhoea. Should she go to school tomorrow or not!??

Sorry Minko - I don't think she should.

My dd had the same thing before Christmas. It's a horrid bug. It comes back just when you think it's going away ifyswim.
If she has diarrhoea then it's probably still working its way through her system. Hope she feels better soon.

its 48 hours from last bout of loose stools or vomitting. Sorry to say it but she is still contagious. Also its not fair to send a child if they are not 100% they need 'mummy time'.

minko · 23/01/2008 20:03

Oh bum. I guess you're right. She isn't 100%.
