I started to have back pain since I stopped
breastfeedin GR about 2 months ago,,,
I lost all the muscels and ligaments are gone
in the pelvic area...
I only have back pain at during the night in bed..
I'm doing some exercises that phisioterapist
suggested...
I know pilate is good too...I'm not sure if I can fit in my mother schedule....
I hope is going to go....

Sasa15 - I suffered from back pain on off for 6 years, particularly during and after pregnancies. I did a course in Alexander Technique - which similarly to pilates - teaches you a lot of consciousness about your body and posture, and awareness of when you are putting unnecessary stresses on it.

Since then (5 years) I wouldn't say I've had perfect posture (I'm slouching in front of the PC now - like everyone else!), but I am very aware of when something is starting to strain my back, and therefore correct it. And I haven't suffered any back pain in that time. (Haven't had any more babies though - so that could be related too!)

But I would strongly recommend doing a course if you can manage to steal the time somewhere.

My physio recommended a book by Robin? Mckenzie (I think) Bought it off Amazon. Has lots of advice and exercises in it.

If you only have it at night in bed I wonder if it has anything to do with your mattress? Is your bed old/new/firm/soft???

sasa15 · 27/11/2004 21:04

yes mattress is new and firm...
we bought it 10 months ago during my pregnancy...

I'm not goo with book...I actually need someone to show excerices to do it properly....

I'll try to start a course
