There's so many out there but which ones have made a difference to you?

I've just been looking at Ashawanga which is meant to make you more alert, give you more energy. My friend swears by a collagen supplement for general health and menopause.

Whether it's a placebo or not but i always feel better after taking a Berocca!!

Can definitely recommend ashwaganda and magnesium supplements. Helped massively with my sleep and anxiety issues

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 28/08/2022 12:17

Magnesium. Better sleep, less anxious. Brings the nervous system into balances

lurchermummy · 28/08/2022 12:23

Echinacea tincture at the first sign of a cold plus vit c and zinc - works but only if you take it when you first get the tickle/sniffle

notsosoftanymore · 28/08/2022 12:29

Magnesium for relaxation and a good night's sleep, chamomile for anxiety, Passion flower also for anxiety, turmeric for joints, fish oil also for joints, marine collagen for skin.

I don't take these all the time, I often forget or I rotate because I think our bodies get used to things and maybe it's not good to be reliant. I don't take any medication although I'm in my 60s now.

I buy tablets. It’s the curcumin in the turmeric that’s the active ingredient, and it’s much more concentrated in the tablets. Apparently the black pepper helps absorption or something (makes it work better anyway).
My joints had got really achey, especially knees, hips and elbows. It was stopping me sleeping and really limiting what I could do. Took about a week of turmeric and I was back to normal - it really worked that well!

A good quality Evening Primrose Oil for breast pain.

KangarooKenny · 28/08/2022 12:38

Magnesium for sleep, but you have to choose which you take.

I’m looking into herbal remedies especially to increase energy and reduce anxiety. Just wondering what people find works? Ginseng? Ashwangha? Magnesium?

twitterexile · 01/02/2023 20:24

May I ask which magnesium people are taking? I have been using Solgar's Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc and my sleep and anxiety have definitely improved. I don't need the calcium though so am looking for an alternative. I believe that mag glycinate is supposed to be the best for sleep but Solgar is mag oxide I think.

twitterexile · 01/02/2023 20:26

Oh and I take turmeric/black pepper from the golden paste company - a teaspoon in warm oat milk is heavenly! Also Centrum women's multivitamin. omega 3 oil, starflowerand primrose oil and fizzy vit C amd vit D.

alittleadvicepls · 01/02/2023 20:54

Ashwangha was actually recommended to us by our fertility clinic. It's meant to increase sperm count!

I’m taking L-Threonate and it has definitely helped my meno brain and sleep.

Biokult probiotics - expensive but worth it. I’ve taken two daily for the last few years and very rarely have any digestion issues, after years of a dodgy stomach. Also magnesium for anxiety.

cheapskatemum · 01/02/2023 21:26

I take vitamin D for seasonal affective disorder
