Belly button weirdness, mole or something else? TMI pic attached!

So I'm a moley person and do keep an eye on my skin, I have had this small mole/skin thing in my belly button for a good few years now. Can't remember if it appeared after my last pregnancy but it is not something I have had forever. It doesn't cause any problems, no pain, it's not increasing in size, doesn't itch, doesn't bleed, just feels sort of dry. Recently I thought maybe I should just get it checked or at least find out what it is and I'm going to get booked in with the docs. Has anyone had anything similar or recognises what it is? Thanks all.

Yes best to get that checked out.

That could well be an actinic keratosis, which is harmless. Do get it checked out, though. If it needs to be removed it's a straightforward job. I've had loads removed.

Looks a bit like a skin tag maybe? This might put your mind at rest - I recently read about this mole checking app called SkinVision and I used it on one of mine. It checks your moles against this huge database and even reminds you when to check them again. I had to pay for my result but it was worth it. Could be useful for you OP?

Brilliant app - "diagnosed" my melanoma, sent me nagging emails to make sure I went to the doc, and now sends me reminders to upload my mole pics to the app. I owe it a lot!

That’s amazing @familyissues12345 - I read about it recently online and tried it out straight away. Thankfully fine, just need to keep tabs on a particular mole. It’s a wonderful app!
