I am at my wits end. For 5-6 weeks now I’ve been on four lots of antibiotics only two hve worked for a few days before the symptoms come back.
It started off with a UTI I had antibiotics went away for a few days and then started coming back had some more antibiotics but the urine cultures I’ve had three have all come back normal and there’s no sign of infection on the dipstick I’m on another course of antibiotics because I’m still urinating frequently and waiting for a bladder scan has anyone else had this because I’ve got no pain no burning or stinging! It’s just like adult feeling like I need to wee often! It’s really getting me down and causing me a lot of anxiety any similar stories would be greatly appreciated!

Any chance you are diabetic? It's a common early symptom.

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 23/08/2022 11:53

How old are you? I’ve only noticed since starting HRT how much less urgent the need to pee is these days! It seems it was a symptom I hadn’t noticed creeping up on me.

I was tested for diabetes about a year ago and came back as normal range.
I am 35!

Hi did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am having similar issues

Habibihk8718 · 24/09/2022 13:10

No not really. I am showing normal urine no uti. I’ve been on various Antibiotics and overactive bladder tablets. They helped I think for a while but after being symptom free for 3 weeks it’s flaring up again. So annoying and stressful.

You may have some pelvic floor dysfunction from constantly having to urinate. I developed this after a series of UTIs and had to see a woman’s health physio which changed my life. I had trained my bladder to pee every 15 minutes and had to retrain it. I stopped trying to force urine out and focussed on keeping my belly soft while peeing. Gradually I built up to holding for an hour by going at set times. Importantly, I only emptied my bladder when it felt reasonably full (with the exception of pre and post sex). I can now go long periods without feeling urgency. I do still have flare ups occasionally but this is usually triggered by trying to force urination or going when my bladder isn’t very full.

Have you tried D-mannose OP?

My urine sample came back as normal. Also had a HBa1C blood test incase I had developed diabetes (I was pre diabetic). Results came back as normal and no longer in the prediabetic range. I used cystitis medication from sainsburys which seemed to have calmed it down a bit. Not sure if it’s linked to my cycle as it was really frequent a few days before my period.

Hi I had my problems last summer and they lasted for six weeks to 8 weeks and it’s never been right since. I had two confirmed water infections no pain but just constant need to urinate I was tested for diabetes I had vaginal swabs they all came back normal I was due for a scan and then suddenly everything stopped so I didn’t go which is probably stupid on my part. It’s never been that bad since but occasionally I’ll have a week where I will constantly pee and I drink no more or less than usual. I definitely have a weak bladder since having that problem because if I need a wee and I don’t go within like five minutes and it’s that week where I pee a lot I’ve only got to jump or cough or sneeze and I’ll wet my knickers. Lol. I think Just having the water infections and water infection like symptoms has caused a bit of damage to bladder control and I think possibly it could be to do with hormones and building up to my period is why I’m weeing a lot as I get headaches before they start as well. Perimenopausal maybe?
