BRCAtesting

I recently found out that a relative tested positive for BRCA2. I had blood tests 7 weeks ago and am waiting anxiously for the results.
Have any of you had this test recently? If so, how long did you have to wait?

I was told 6-8 weeks, but my letter says “about 2 months” and this leaves things a bit more open. I was fine waiting until the 6 week mark, so an extra week or so is playing havoc with my mind!!!

I know a positive result does not necessarily mean I will get cancer, just massively increases the risk.

A relative recently had her blood test and the appointment for the results was booked for about 7-8 weeks on but she rang to confirm the blood had been taken (because our local hospital doesn't seem to talk to other trusts), so I'd follow up to see when you can have your results appointment.
All the best for your results.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I don’t have a results appointment. The results get emailed to me and a follow-up appointment will then be made if needed.
I have just passed 2 months now. Will email them if I have heard nothing on Friday.
