Feel awful after multiple antibiotics - suggestions?

Hi I've just finished my 4th course of antibiotics over 4 weeks for a very persistent uti (cultured).

Macrobid (nitrofurantoin) for a week... I think it's cleared the infection but my nether regions are all pretty sore (not unusual for me after antibiotics) I can't be sure.

But aside from that I feel rubbish. Splitting headache, exhausted. Nitro did cause headache, nausea, exhaustion.

How long til I feel slightly alive?! I'm seriously fed up now 😟 Am taking probiotics - anything else you'd recommend? Thank you!

Pharmacist says speak to GP if headache no better in 24 hrs. Like you can get to speak to a GP for a headache!

Maybe take PRE as well as probiotics. Your gut biome will have been decimated so concentrate on healing them as they effect so many body processes. Sounds awful - poor you!

Thanks so much Pangolin. What's PRE? I've got a good probiotic supplement and bio yog... I think like you say my gut biome is wiped out - hoping that's all it is.

Get some acidophilus from Holland and Barrett

Sorry @colouringindoors I meant prebiotics as well as probiotics as they're 2 different things. I use inulin as a prebiotic but there's other types. Basically it feeds the good bacteria in the gut and helps it grow.

Bio yoghurt, kefir, and try to eat a varied diet with lots of whole plant foods to helo restore your biome.

Stay off caffeine and booze for a bit if you can. Not tol much sugar.

Lots and lots of greens - green juice if you can make or get it, green Leafy veg, onions and garlic too

Thanks so much. I'm worried the infection hasn't gone 😪
