Where was the swelling exactly can you remember? Just at the back of your hell or around your ankle as a whole? How long did it take before you could put weight on your foot and how long was it until you were completely better and did you have any treatment for it and what was it?

Phew. That was alot of questions!

PTIYP&SI - i ruptured both of mine years ago (in a drunken escapade). it was agony - and when i pressed at the back of my ankle - there was just a soft spot. yeaauchhhhhhhh. what i wold really recommend it that you go and get it checked asap. you could have torn it a small bit and if you keep walking on it - the whole thing might go. i ended up in plaster on both legs for 6 months with alot of physio for ages afterwards. i still walk with a bit of a limp when i am tired.
go and get it looked at"!"!!!

I know someone that pulled them and was in agony straight away, couldn't walk had to go to A&E. Was in plaster for ages.

i didn't sraine mine....woke up one morn and they were 'inflammed'..is that the same thing? really painful and had to have anti-inflammatories to get the swelling down. a good week before mine were back to normal after starting the tablets.

It's my one year old and I'm pretty sure that's what she's done though whatever she did, she did in her cot. The hopsital are stumped and it's been 2.5 weeks now.

poor little thing. Is she still not putting her weight on it?
Go by your instincts, if you think she is in pain, go back to your GP. She may have got her ankle caught in the cot bars and twisted it, it might be badly sprained. Ask for a second opinion. Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you are over-reacting. Do what you think is right for BOTH of you.

I hope she gets better soon.

It's looking SLIGHTLY less swollen toay - oh I wish I could magic it better. They offered to refer her to an adult orthapod with an interest in children so I said no thanks I'd rather go to a paediatric one if you don't mind! We shall see....

i just woke up with mine putthat. didn't have a clue how it happened. Had to call the doctor out as i couldn't walk on it. He told me sometimes these things happen. But as i said before mine were diagnosed as 'inflammed' and the anti-inflammatories (sp) did work well. Childrens nurofen have an anti-inflammatory in i have been told. Had you been giving her that maybe?

Hope she fells better soon.
