Hi all,

I'm so stressed and will start by saying I do have anxiety, mainly social and health related.

10 years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, nothing else was ruled out and to this day doctors refuse to rule anything else out but my symptoms are getting worse. Alongside all the pains and fatigue, I also get numbness in my back, bum, groin, legs and feet. I have shaky hands often that jerk and pins and needles that come and go all over. All bloods are fine. I am concerned I have MS. Could it be? Should I push for mri? I'm currently about to have a panic attack as I've had these numb symptoms for 5 days now. I can walk with it but I'm uncomfortable and I have lost a lot of sensation when touching the areas mentioned. My daughter is having her birthday party next week so also stressing I won't feel better for that. Not sure if anxiety is making all this worse. I just want someone to take me seriously

Please get a copy of your last couple of blood test results off the receptionist and check them.

I suffered horrible symptoms and was convinced I had MS but the majority of my symptoms resolved after having B12 injections. The ‘normal’ range for B12 is set ridiculously low in the U.K. Luckily the hospital lab had printed on my my report ‘consider treatment if symptomatic’ because my levels were at the very bottom of the normal range and the GP would have just marked them as fine.
Even ferritin is set quite low. Our lab marks normal for ferritin if your levels are 15-300 but nice guidelines say treatment needed if under 30.
Vitamin D is normal at 50 but needs to be 75 for bone protection…there are so many people suffering multiple symptoms because they are told blood test results are ‘normal’.

Check exactly what bloods have been tested and how your levels compare to the labs reference range and go from there. It’s awful you are left feeling so worried. I hope you get some answers, and some treatment that helps, soon Flowers
