Normal mozzie bite? Or a bit like a tick rash?

I have an obvious mosquito bite on my other leg, so I was certainly around them!

But my mozzie bites don’t usually look like this one, and I’m quite paranoid about getting bitten by a tick (I know someone who got Lyme disease). I saw no tick though.

What do you think?

That's not a bullseye rash imo. Whack some Antishan on it.and take Piriton.

I think I'd send a pic to my GP or speak to a pharmacist. Could it have been a horse fly? I get that kind of reaction from horse flies but they swell immediately and itch like the devil. And i think ticks usually hang on until they are physically removed rather than biting and moving on like mozzies.

Thanks both!

It could be a horsefly? It does hurt - although I find all bites quite sore!

I got bitten twice last night in the garden and they look like yours but not as big, I'm guessing insect bite of some sort.

Definitely not a tick.

If I get a horsefly bite it looks like that, spreads too, I usually get some fever as well. Hope that's as bad as it gets OP, looks nasty enough, keep an eye on it. Horrid creatures.

I think that is normal mosquito and you have reacted to it. Put something calming on it.

Get thee to the Dr, you don't want to mess about with lyme. Have you been anywhere where you've been at risk from ticks? Eg long grass?
