Struggling with the heat

Managed ok for the first three days but last night was so hot, and today even hotter so there's been no respite from it. I am on medicines that exacerbate heat exhaustion, so I have been trying so hard to be careful and pace myself, but today I am struggling with everything, I couldn't even hang the laundry outside as I started to feel dizzy and sick.

I've been drinking loads of water and trying to stay in the coolest room in the house but I have two small children who want to jump all over me and keep asking me to give them food or draw them stegosauruses.

Anyone else struggling today?

Yeah my feet, legs and hands are so swollen I'm struggling to walk properly. My lower legs and feet in particular are throbbing quietly 😌. In the process of having a condition diagnosed that means I don't process salt properly, which in turn causes this. The heat it just exasperating it.

Soak feet in a bowl of cold water with ice cubes in.

Coolish shower and leave your hair wet.

The temperature will go down to 19 degrees this week where we are with a lot of rain forecast, so the end is in sight.

Have you got a garden or yard? If so, fill a bucket or two with water, stick your feet in it and let the kids play with the water- all in the shade of course.

My feel, ankles, legs up to just below the knee, plus fingers, are all swollen and feel heavy and tight. Give your kids some sandwiches, crisps drinks and a bit of fruit.

All of the above are good suggestions. I feel the heat terribly so I have 3 quick showers a day and leave my hair soaking wet.

At night I have a cotton scarf which I rinse and wring out then sleep under, it's an amazing way to keep cool.

No cooking, wear your pants and a t shirt and lots of water okay for the little ones.

Meant to be better next week.

Wring out a hand towel in cold water and wrap it around your head. That might give you a bit of time feeling better.
Go to an air conditioned shopping centre for a couple of hours if that's possible.

Throw a sheet over the kitchen table and make the kids a 'cave' house.
They might get a bit of mileage out of that while you soak your feet in a basin of cold water.

Me too
I'll be so glad when the rain starts.....
I've spent most of the last few days with my feet in a bowl of cold water
