When can she go back?

DD1 had chickenpox.

She had a moderate case, she first came out in spots a week ago Thursday.

ALL of her blisters are now gone or scabbed over. She didn't have many on her face, arms or legs.

She's now beyond bored and begging to go back to nursery.

Is it safe to send her? Will they take her - you can still see the blisters that are there, but they're all scabs (eewww)?

Yes, it's fine as soon as they're all scabbed over and no new blisters appear. I don't know if primary schools have changed their procedures but ours used to allow them back then

She's fine to go back

She would have been more contagious before the spots appeared FWIW; but general rule for nurseries is that spots need to have dried up/scabbed over

In dd1's nursery I am pretty sure that they say once the spots have scabbed over. How about giving your nursery a quick call in the morning just to check their policy. They will be used to seeing slightly scabby children who have just had chicken pox.

If all her spots are scabbed and dry then she can go back. Its just when they are blistered or still emerging they won't have them.

Cool. Was going to rink them, anyhow, because the nursery's about 8 miles away.

she's not on Piriton anymore.

she hasn't needed anything today.

just waiting for DD2 to break out now .

Hope she enjoys her day at nursery and you may even enjoy a little break from her. (assuming you are like me and relish a few hours with only one dd instead of 2!)
