poor you my mum had frozen shoulder and have to get quarterzone (think thats how you say it) injections

have you tried deep freeze on it or ice pack to help take down inflammation try not to put heat on it as will bring out more inflammation

hope you feel better soon

Cortisone? Is a steroid

dooley1 · 20/01/2008 19:24

have you taken any anti inflammatories like ibprofen? you can alternate with paracetmol so at least you might get a decent night's sleep

OracleInaCoracle · 20/01/2008 19:27

took some earlier. shall take more now, will go to docs tomorrow if its still this bad. typing 1- handed!

O god, you have mine (sympathy). Have got something similar, though not quite as bad as yours sounds - am seriously hoping its not a 'real' frozen shoulder. Is it the side you use most?

OracleInaCoracle · 20/01/2008 19:44

yes, my right. its got progressively bad over the last couple of weeks, couldn't even have a massage in college because it hurt too much how long has yours been hurting?

Only since Tuesday. Ironically, I saw osteopath in the morning for bad back, then shoulder seized up later that day - still bad, but think bit better after taking regular Ibuprofen. Worst for me is at night, for some reason - maybe it stiffens up?!?

Have to admit I'm very glad mine is my left - not sure I could wipe my own behind if it wasn't

Have you seen anyone for it?

OracleInaCoracle · 20/01/2008 19:53

no, been putting it off. but literally cant move it now soo...

mine really hurts too

i broke my collar bone in a car accident when i was 16... i was hit my a car as a pedestrain at 50mph and after i somersaulted in the air and smashed my head through the windscreen, i broke my collar bon one the metal edge where the windscreen is.

when i mended it didnt quite med straight

i have days when it doenst hurt at all... and days when it is just so painful.

My boss is a Dr (GP) and ademant there is nothing that can be done though... and says not worth going to my GP.... so i wont

i guess that is what my compensation from they guy who ran me over was for ... the rest of my life in pain?

PanicPants · 20/01/2008 21:02

How wierd, I too, have a bad shoulder. It's ok if I'm still, but if I twist or move my head either side pain shoots down my back and arms, and up into my neck.

But, I have been using those heat pad things you stick onto the pain and it lasts for 12 hours. It costs about £3.99 for a pack of 3 pads from boots. They have helped, I feel a lot better, AND they're non-medicinal.
