Steve has been sick a lot the last couple of days and nights, he doesn't have a temperature so don't think he has an infection. poor steve he is worn out with it all. its been so hard for him this weekend to keep his anti sickness tablets down. fingers crossed he hasn't been sick since 4 o'clock we are hoping he will have a sick free night.

Hi Oj,
Sending you good vibes, always in my thoughts xxx

bigcar · 22/01/2008 13:37

I remember when my dad was ill, years ago, the bog standard tranqs used to give him wierd dreams and left him drowsy the next day. The ones that knocked him out cold meant he slept better and was less drowsy. Hope youre having a good day today.

onlyjoking9329 · 22/01/2008 14:48

steve still not being sick which is good
he is still aggitatted and confused, i spoke to our mac nurse who spoke to the hospice dr, they recomend giving steve the Haldol in the day time, he has had his first one this afternoon so will see if that calms him down.
DS has a sickness bug so hoping steve doesnt get it too.

Hope Steve is still ok, it must be very draining being sick all the time, I admire you both you know, just do not know how ou are holding it all together. Oj, how long have you and Steve been married, ignore if I am being nosey!

onlyjoking9329 · 22/01/2008 21:28

not nosy at all we have been together 17 years and married for ten,
things are so different these days it will be steves birthday on friday, last bithday he was DX with MS and a brain tumour not thought to be cancerous
he is so confused at the moment our washer is leaking and he spend ages tying three bits of string around the electric cable it's still leaking and he can't understand how it's not mended.
he has had his new meds today and he has been less aggressive and a bit calmer

Hi,
We have been tog 32 years, married 30 this year! Crazy to think that after 30 years we have 10 yr old triplets and are needing a bigger house, not down sizing like all our friends. You never think in those sweet early years that life is going to change so much for you, good job we don`t know I suppose.

onlyjoking9329 · 22/01/2008 21:38

i am in awe at ten year old triplets we have one 10 year old and i don't want to even think about what lefe would be like if he were one of three, mind you our twin girls are 13 and DS is the same size as the girls so we get asked if they are triplets

Hi oj - thinking of you. Thought I'd just say I accidentally sent a FB 'funwall' request to all my friends so just ignore it - I accepted a request someone sent me and it automatically sent one to all my friends. Bloody annoying - sorry about that.

onlyjoking9329 · 22/01/2008 22:15

no worries i always ignore face book stuff unless its a message.

Hi OJ - how are things? Are you OK? How is Steve doing? Any easier with the confusion etc? xxxxx

onlyjoking9329 · 23/01/2008 12:08

Thanks for asking he is still very confused and playing up about having his tablets.
i am hoping the confusion will clear up but if it is down to progression of the tumour then it won't improve

OP posts:
whispywhisp · 23/01/2008 12:21

Is he up and about at all? When I cared for the lady who was terminally ill with MS and cancer she got very confused over her tablets. It was such a worry because she could never remember what she'd had/not had and I'd often find them on the floor, tucked under her pillow or even back in their packets. It would be hard to persuade her to take them because she was adamant she'd had them already and she'd get quite angry with us - such a shame because she was such a lovely lady.

Anyway - how are you? How is your knee? Hope the kids are ok. Hope you do a Personal Injury claim against the white van man! xxxx

onlyjoking9329 · 23/01/2008 12:36

he is up and about but he is into tying bits of string to
doorhandles and raidiators I dare. Not sit still too long as he will have me trussedup
ds off school with sickness bug so am just awaiting a sitter so I can. Nip to the shops.

OP posts:
whispywhisp · 23/01/2008 13:17

String? That's a new one! I needed some string only the other day and couldn't find any...now I know where to come!

onlyjoking9329 · 23/01/2008 14:22

if you come and untie the string then you can have it

TheJanuaryFlowerFairy · 23/01/2008 14:36

Hi, OJ - I missed your thread about the flowers yesterday so am just popping on here to say I'm glad they arrived safely and that they cheered you up

I'm glad too that Steve is up and about and not too poorly - perhaps he could use some bits of string to fly the butterflies round the room

onlyjoking9329 · 23/01/2008 15:48

LOL. If its ok with you I'll not give him any more ideas
OJ runs off to hide string.

OJ.....yea but you're now going to tell me he's doing double french knots aren't you? Y'know the ones that you simply can't undo?

onlyjoking9329 · 23/01/2008 22:17

no he is not up to french knots thou his bows are good!

OP posts:
fortyplus · 23/01/2008 23:57

Hi oj Was he ever a Scout? Ds1 went to Cubs and has a thing he did where they tied all different knots in different coloured plastic string - the stuff that there was a craze on a few years back when children made friendship bracelets out of them. He's quite proud of it - he's 14 now and still got it on his bedroom notice board!

onlyjoking9329 · 24/01/2008 10:05

no he has never been in the scouts perhaps he should have been we have Sellotape & string now do you think blue peter would be intersted?

OP posts:
whispywhisp · 24/01/2008 10:33

Oh no...it's sticky backed plastic and empty washing up bottles for Blue Peter to be interested!......

How are things today OJ? xx

fortyplus · 24/01/2008 14:43

How is Steve today? At least the sun is shining for him
