I found a lump

Tonight I’ve noticed a pea sized lump in the middle of my armpit.. it’s raised and visibly noticeable, and a bit tender when I touch it.

I’m going to speak to the GP in the morning for reassurance but wondering if anyone here can share a similar experience?

Also - a bit of background. Early covid, my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma. (I know it’s not the thing to do) but I googled and I am experiencing quite a few other symptoms which naturally has freaked me out.

Any offer of advice/shared experience will be so appreciated x

I tend to get painful lumps in my armpits. But thats usually due to using deodorant. Mine normally goes away after a few days

I went through a long period where I was getting swollen lymph nodes, and numerous other symptoms, frequently.

When I eventually (and I mean after years) plucked up the courage to go to the doctors, my blood tests came back all clear.

The only thing she prescribed me at my appointment was anxiety medication, and I do now think I made myself ill, because the symptoms stopped pretty much as soon as I got the clear blood tests.

I've also had a few other lumps and bumps checked out in the underarm/boobs area over time, and nothing has come of any of them.

So see your GP, but please try not to worry.

And I hope your dad is doing better.

Tender lumps in armpits are usually nothing to worry about. Normally a response to something like a razor Nick or using a different deodorant. I get them all the time. You will probably find it will disappear in a few days. If it doesn't then get it checked.
