Hello , I’m a Lurker and this is my first post. Has anybody suffered with a pelvic prolapse?

i have three DC. Youngest is 4 in a few weeks , so this has only happened recently. Anyway , it started off as waking through the night to use the toilet I tried restricting fluids but it’s not made a difference. Over three last few weeks it’s been hell to live with having the near constant feeling of needing to void I do pass small amounts each time I go and often it feels difficult I have looked at the area and i do have s bulge.

i have seen the GP , this is where my frustration lies. She examined me and said yes there’s a bit of cystocele.but not too bad , but she really wasn’t confident in this because she had told me several times she didn’t specialise - which is fine as i understand the term general practitioner is general . But some of the comments she has made during my appointments

“X-ray result shows an area of medical terminology but I don’t know what that is so let’s Google it”

”If you have an over active bladder there is a medicine we could prescribe but I’ll have to think about it because I Normally only prescribe it to older people , I will call you when I’ve thought about it “ (I’m 31)

“I can’t Swab/smear you because I’m not certified”.

She has booked me in with a continence nurse to hopefully fit a Pessary to help , urology referral to hospital but this is taking around 9 months in our area . but the first appointment I could get isn’t until the first of September which I appreciate is only a couple of weeks but when you are living with such disruption it feels a life time away. Im up and down all day long for the toilet waking anywhere between 2-6 times a night , uncomfortable , trying to look after 3 D.C. ,

Im clear for UTI , she sent it to the lab

apologies in advance for the really long , badly written and awful grammar

has anybody else experienced this ? It’s utterly exhausting! Thank you

Hi,

I've just read your post and I'm sorry no one responded to you.

As this was almost a year ago, where are you with it now?

I visited my gp the other week as I'm going through the same as you. I suddenly felt really uncomfortable in my pelvic area and noticed a lump protruding when I went to the loo. When I went to the gp the next day it wasn't as bad and she's just told me there's slight movement in the front vaginal wall. It wasn't until I checked my notes on the app that I saw she'd marked it as possible early cystocele. Since then I feel like it's getting worse, I'm constantly needing to wee and after walking the lump comes back.

I'm thinking I need to go back to the gp and at least ask to be referred somewhere?

Hope you got some treatment x

Pelvic floor exercises, properly and regularly, are really important.
Google Elaine Miller. She is an obstetric physio and an expert on pelvic floor problems. We are really bad at teaching, and doing, pelvic floor exercises in the UK. In Europe, new mums get a session with an obstetric physio to ensure they are doing the exercises properly.
