Hot burning feet

Hello

For the past few months, I've developed hot burning feet, mainly at night, but also feel it sometimes during the day. They feel a bit warm to the touch, but it's more a feeling of burning. I have no other symptoms.
I recently had quite a few blood test, including a test for diabetes, which was negative. Could it be MS? Although I don't have any other symptoms and I also had an eye check which I was told would pick up MS.

My question is, has this happened to others where there are no underlying conditions? I will be making an appointment to see my GP about this but wanted to hear from others as to whether this is common. And I'm definitely not pregnant.

Did they test B12 & Vitamin D?

Low B12, even if in the lower end of normal, can cause lots of symptoms, many of which mimic MS symptoms. Our lab actually print ‘consider treatment if symptomatic’ on B12 results that are in the lower range of normal. Many Drs simply mark bloods as ‘normal’ even if they are at the very lowest end of the normal range, regardless of the symptoms you are suffering because they may be reporting on a couple of hundred test results per week. Maybe ask for a print out of your results so you can check?

Low magnesium can also cause burning feet -although ime Drs rarely request it to be tested. Maybe try a high strength supplement to see if it eases symptoms.

Burning feet can also be experienced with low vitamin D. I know it’s blazing sunshine atm but if you are a high factor spf wearer then you can still be deficient.

I had some horrible symptoms with low B12& low Vitamin D & I was convinced it was MS. Many of the symptoms have reduced or resolved now I’m on prescription strength Vitamin D & B12 injections, things improved further when I started taking magnesium too and my sleep is a lot better these days now my legs aren’t jerking, twitching and burning all night!
