What on earth is wrong with me - could it be a panic attack?

I’ve been feeling “off” for 3/4 days now. Really fatigued, falling asleep on sofa then early nights and waking still feel exhausted. On/off sick to my stomach feeling but no sickness. Then today my heart has been racing on/off. I’ve been feeling dizzy and out of it. Also really emotional and just not with it. It’s horrible and I’m wondering if it’s maybe anxiety?

Are you eating well/properly?

In this heat it's more likely heat/sun stroke or dehydration.

Not typical symptoms. Although anxiety can follow an illness or a course of antibiotics.

It doesn't sound like a panic attack no, but could be generalised anxiety. Have you had your iron levels checked recently? Ferritin as well as haemoglobin; low levels can cause dizziness, exhaustion and a racing heart or palpitations. Also agree about dehydration - make sure you're drinking plenty of plain water, it's been really humid.

Could it be covid? I felt really nauseated when I had it.

AtrociousCircumstance · 08/08/2022 22:39

Sounds like a virus OP. Take it easy for a while.

Iron deficiency?
That can cause symptoms like palpitations and definitely tiredness. Worth looking into.

That was my first thought as I've seen reported that these are current symptoms.

Can you take a test op?

I get this when anaemic. Or thyroid issues?

Haggisfish3 · 08/08/2022 23:01

Or a virus!

These were my symptoms of anxiety. I went to the doctor with all these symptoms, especially the feeling off and I felt like it was a huge effort to get up and going every day. After a few questions from the GP, I broke down there and then in her consultation room and spent days crying at home. Take care OP and see someone soon. Could be a virus, as PPs have said, but could well be anxiety. I’ve had CBT now and continue to be supported with my mental health, 6 months later and a lot of these symptoms have gone. Good luck.
