Does this look like an ingrowing toenail?

My big toe has been sore on and off for a few weeks and is worse if I’ve been walking or running. The first photo was before a bath the second one afterwards. If it was what can I do to help it?

@Splodgerbodgerbadger it looks as though this began with an ingrown toenail and progressed to a full blown fungal infection. You should see a podiatrist asap and if you cannot afford to go private, your GP can refer you to one asap. Honestly, I’d go private if I was you as this looks awful. Hoping you get it sorted soon. My advice is from past experience treating patients.

Yes that an ingrown toe nail infection. Paronychia. This happens to me and it agony when the slighted thing touches it. It after it burst like yours has it was fine. I didn't see a doctor because I was travelling and it sorted its self out.

You also look to have fungal nail infection (the white bit) which I also had.

Thanks for the replies, I will ask someone about it. I also have a patch of something on one of my thumb nails.
