Stroke Recovery

I know this is all variable, so it almost seems pointless asking, but I just need some idea of how things might go.

My mum had a stroke on the 22nd of December and came out of hospital on Tuesday. I've been up with her and now we've brought her down to my brother cos he has a bungalow (he lives in the same city as me though so I'll be over every day).

The clots were in her neck and both sides were affected. She has a very weak left leg, but she can walk short distances, slowly, with a cane. Her right side is fine in that regard, but she can't feel things with it, like hot or cold.

Anyone any words of wisdom or stories or anything? And may be ways I could help I haven't thought of.

My Mum had a stroke in June 2005 and she has recovered 100%!!! However, she is far more emotional now and cries at things she never would have done before but her dr said that it happens with a lot of stroke victims.

I hope your Mum has a recovery like my Mums x

Thanks for the messages. They make me feel more positive. I also told my mum. I know they are just a small sample, but it's the mental motivation that matters for her.
