varicose veins - how to choose a private clinic?

how do you know where to go, and who is good? I don't have any friends or family who have had veins done privately, so don't have any personal recommendations. Advice online is always "do your research" but what does that mean? What questions should I ask and what are signs of a "good" clinic?

No advice I’m afraid, but I’d love to know. Mine is really getting me down, I feel like I have to keep it covered in this hot weather and so I can’t wear shorts or shorter dresses.

Ps I'm in Scotland (Glasgow)

I decided to avoid the private clinics for just that reason. I asked my GP to suggest someone and he put me in touch with a consultant vascular surgeon.

The cost was similar to the clinics and my treatment was in the local private hospital with a top surgeon using the gold standard procedure ( laser ablation)

Be careful of places that only offer the foam treatment. It has a high failure rate and repeat treatments are often needed.

Thank you that’s really helpful

Choose the surgeon first and then go where they work. Ask your GP for a private referral - they will know the best surgeons in the area
