Sweating buckets in the night.... am I alone?

I have had this in the past but for the last 4 nights I have woken up soaked!!! I even took my nightie off at 2 AM and this morning it was still wet!
Now I am only 37 and have had no periods in 3 months (this is being investigated by a usually slow NHS)....
I don't think it's pre-menopause as I have had this in the past but I don't recall having it so badly....

this may be obvious...... but recently I started waking up sweating loads. It took me ages to remember that it conincided with me putting a waterproof sheet thing beneath my bed (in case my waters broke!). DS2 sweats a lot in bed and I think he's doing it for the same reason( he just wets the bed!)
