Lump on shoulder (pic) - no follow up

A few weeks ago I noticed a hard, immovable lump on my shoulder. It doesn’t hurt when I press it. I do have painful bursitis in that shoulder though, so thought it might be related and left it a while to see if it would go away. It didn’t, so I booked an appointment with GP to get it checked.

He had a feel and said it could just be my anatomy. I said that I knew my shoulder anatomy very well as I’ve had problems with it for years, and that it was definitely a new lump. He sent me for an x-ray which was returned with no further action and since then I’ve had no follow up.

Is an x-ray sufficient or should I chase them? I’ve been to the GP about a couple of other things recently (a chronic rash they can’t find a cause for and ongoing fatigue/night sweats, blood tests normal) so I’m concerned I might come across as if I have health anxiety, and I know how busy they are.

Pics attached.

No further action just means they are satisfied there is nothing sinister about the lump & you don’t need a referral to a consultant/hospital.

they won’t contact you for a follow up because they aren’t going to remove it or anything plus they are far too busy to offer follow up appointments for, essentially, healthy patients.

if you want to discuss it further you will have to phone for an appointment but it sounds like they aren’t going to do anything with your lump.
