Hi girls,

Hoping you can reassure me that this is normal.. My lil boy, Teddy, started vomiting on Saturday at around 2am. He continued to be sick all Saturday and is still being sick now - usually 2 or 3 times a day. He has been docile and lethargic, so I took him to the Dr yesterday. He looked in his ears, said they were red and has prescribed Amoxicillin - Ted has currently had 2 days worth shovelled down him. However, he is still unable to keep anything down really. He did eat his lunch today - half an hour later, puked it all up. He even brings up water or weak juice. I've stopped his milk for now. As this has been going on for 5 days now, he is weak and just so not himself. I've been giving him calpol too, as he keeps getting hot. So... is this normal ? Are babies sick with an ear infection ? If it's a bug as well.. would it last this long ? I am now getting worried. Have made another appt for Friday - but really would have expected to see him turning the corner by now. Thanks in advance. Jules

my ds got ear infection and it took three days for anti-biotics i was told to give calpol then three hours later nurofen and to keep it up. That way the temp does not get chance to get up. My ds would not eat but constantly bf. Definetly give milk if you can. Even if he takes small sips

i will say doctor told me not to give milk and i did test whenever i gave milk he threw up really bad and had bad belly cramps and stuck with water after that still sick but ok also milk can dehydrate if nothing else going in

and as said in a bug it can feed the bug i know there all conflicting information but my ds sickness defiantly wasnt as bad with clear fluids and ice pops were my godsend

hope he feels well soon just try with milk if appears more sick then stop but i would try more with water as milk is classed as food and is heavy on the belly and also doesnt refresh

you need to top his clear fluids up that he is losing good luck big hugs to little guy and to you

hi jules how are things today?

FlllightAttendant · 17/01/2008 14:03

I think you might have to push this, get him admitted for some rehydration and or antibiotics by drip...that could sort him out very quickly. How is he today?

(My friend did this with her son of 8 months, worked very fast )
